Lotus Post Unveils Stage 1

Stage 1 Rear

  • STAGE ONE has been designed to service the Santa Monica area's expanding need for world class, theatrically calibrated, sound mixing stages and screening facilities. STAGE ONE is the largest independently owned and operated dubbing theater on the west side of Los Angeles.

  • Conceived and designed by owners and industry veterans Michael Perricone and David Marcus, the 26,000 cubic foot theater, measuring 52 feet deep, features ICON consoles, 7.1 capability, a 28 x 13 foot screen with Christie DLP HD projection, and comfortably seats 60 for screenings.

"It's a great new option in town, a real game changer", states noted sound supervisor Paula Fairfield.

  • STAGE ONE has taken off full force with the mixing of the new Bradley Cooper film, "Outrun", co - directed by David Palmer and Dax Shepard.  Also on STAGE ONE's immediate slate is the mixing of the Charles Matthau 1970's inspired comedy, "Freaky Deaky" as well as "The Philosophers", a dramatic thought experiment film directed by John Huddles and produced by George Zakk.

CEO Michael Perricone comments: "We wanted to raise the bar and elevate the process and results for our clients' projects. STAGE ONE has been created to make the large scale 'studio style' dubbing experience available to independent and studio filmmakers alike".

Adds COO David Marcus: "We looked at the marketplace, we looked at the competition, we listened to the mixers, the sound supervisors and our clients.  I believe we have created the new standard for theatrical mixing rooms."

Dax Shepard’s Ensemble Comedy ‘Outrun’ Picked Up For Domestic Release

Back when he was getting his start torturing celebrities on the Ashton Kutcher produced MTV prank show Punk’d it would have been hard to predict that comedian Dax Shepard would get to where he is today. He’s gone from wearing silly fake mustaches and telling Justin Bieber that his dad died to starring in big Hollywood movies, getting engaged to the criminally hot Kristen Bell, and now even making features of his own.

Deadline Milford is reporting that Outrun, a movie that Shepard wrote and directed himself, has been acquired for domestic release by Open Road Pictures. This isn’t just a little project that Shepard made in his backyard either, this is a big comedy with an ensemble cast. Shepard himself stars as an ex-getaway driver who must break out of jail to drive his girlfriend to L.A. so that she can get the job of her dreams, Kristen Bell is playing the girlfriend, Tom Arnold is playing a federal agent on their tail, Bradley Cooper is playing the leader of the gang Shepard used to be a part of, and somehow names like Beau Bridges, Kristin Chenoweth and David Koechner are all involved as well.

When asked to comment on the process of making Outrun, Shepard explained, “My number-one passion after Kristen and work is motorsports — I’m interested in almost anything with an engine. This movie is like a giant cake made with my three favorite ingredients: my fiancée, my best friends and all my favorite cars. It was a six week-long birthday party!” Sounds like a pretty charmed life. It’s official: I kind of hate Dax Shepard. I guess I’m willing to give his movie a shot though; I have always liked Tom Arnold.
