Santa Monica Post Consortium Scores A Hole In One With “Seven Days in Utopia”

Lotus Post, Stand Media, and Tunnel Post collectively known as The Santa Monica Post Consortium
(SMPC), have scored a hole-in-one on the feature film, “Seven Days in Utopia” starring Oscar winner
Robert Duvall and Deborah Ann Woll.

Based on the book “Golf's Sacred Journey” by Dr. David Cook, Seven Days in Utopia follows the
story of Luke Chisolm (Lucas Black), a talented young golfer set on making the pro tour. When Luke has
a catastrophic meltdown at a mini tour golf tournament, he is left broken and bitter. Just when he thought
it couldn’t get any worse, Luke wrecks his car finds himself stuck in a small town called Utopia, Texas.
Dazed and despaired, it is here in Utopia that Luke meets a man who will change his golf game and his
life forever…Johnny Crawford (Robert Duvall). Johnny asks Luke to stay for seven days and embark on a
journey that he will not soon forget. Over the next week while he is stranded in Utopia, Luke learns more
about golf, life and faith than he ever bargained for. Utopia is indeed a place of mythical proportion. But
make no mistake about it….Utopia, Texas is real and its teachings are profound and everlasting. Join Luke
on his journey in Utopia as he discovers his purpose through actions such as fly fishing, painting and
flying planes. Follow him as he explores relationship with the likes of Sarah Hawkins (Deborah Ann
Woll), Lily (Melissa Leo), Jake (Brian Geraghty) and Mabel (Kathy Baker).

The Santa Monica Post Consortium is providing turnkey picture and sound post production services for
the film.

The SMPC offers complete concept to distribution post production services which include voice casting,
sound supervision and editorial, sound design, ADR and foley recording, Re - recording, Red workflow,
offline and on line picture editorial, film recording, and restoration, dust busting, titles and opticals,
graphic design, visual effects, digital intermediates, film and HD screening facilities, asset management,
global distribution and film funding.

The Fighter nominated!

We were privileged to be able to provide The Fighter with their ADR this last year.  We entertained the fabulous actors and director David O. Russell who have now been nominated for Golden Globes.  It was a pleasure to have Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Melissa Leo and David here and we look forward to having them back in the future.  Best of luck to them!  The complete list of nominees can be found here.

Our ADR stage continues to be buzzing with work.  We recently completed work on the ADR for The Divide, a post-apocalyptic thriller starring Milo Ventimiglia and Michael Biehn.  Coming up we will work with Mr. Biehn again on his directorial debut in The Victim.  Also in the pipe is On The Shoulders of Giants, a smashing documentary about the Harlem Renaissance with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. 

Lotus will be closed from December 25th through January 2nd.  The New Year promises more wide and varied projects and we'll check back with you then!
