Lotus Post and Oscar...like hand in glove.

Lotus Post, Santa Monica's leading independent post production sound facility, is proud to announce that two films for which it provided services are up for Oscar nods this year. Both “The Fighter”, directed by David O. Russell and the acclaimed documentary, “Waste Land”, directed by Lucy Walker have been nominated for the coveted statues.
Nominated for 7 Oscars, and starring Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, and Amy Adams, “The Fighter” is about boxer "Irish" Micky Ward's unlikely road to the world light welterweight title. His Rocky-like
rise was shepherded by half-brother Dicky, a boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded in life after nearly being KO'd by drugs and crime.
Lotus Post's Stage D ADR studio scored a TKO with director David O. Russell and Relativity Media by looping principal dialog for the film. Lotus Post's low key ambiance, discreet staff, and central Santa Monica location was especially appreciated by the actors.
The Lucy Walker directed documentary, “Waste Land”, utilized Lotus for final sound mixing. It’s an uplifting feature documentary highlighting the transformative power of art and the beauty of the human spirit. Top-selling contemporary artist Vik Muniz goes on an emotional journey from Jardim Gramacho, the world's largest landfill on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, to the heights of international art stardom. Vik collaborates with the brilliant catadores, pickers of
recyclable materials, true Shakespearean characters who live and work in the garbage quoting Machiavelli and showing how to recycle ourselves.
